Photoshop does not have so much flexibility in terms of vector type controls. But is better for projects aiming for artistic integration of type into images – for example Jabberwocky.

Good on the basic controls and keyboard shortcuts and exactly where to cllick when to make this process less frustrating. And stop things springing and disappearing.
Warp tool distorts text. On a path does not.
Keyboard: T, P, A and ShiftA. Kerning put cursor between letters and Alt left and right arrows.

Uses a more painterly approach and brushes for effects on the text.
